Strategic Planning Document
IU Saxony Strategic Plan Draft
This project is a preliminary strategic planning draft created for Indiana University Health Saxony Hospital in my Strategic Planning course. The project includes a comprehensive analysis of the hospital’s internal and external environment, including service area and competitive analyses, SWOT analysis, and directional strategies. It reflects an early-stage strategic framework aimed at evaluating organizational performance and identifying opportunities for improvement in healthcare delivery.
What I learned
Through this assignment, I learned how to systematically evaluate a healthcare organization using strategic planning tools such as SWOT analysis, environmental assessment, and competitive analysis. I gained a better understanding of how hospitals assess their service areas, identify strengths and weaknesses, and develop directional strategies to improve care and organizational effectiveness. This project also strengthened my ability to think critically about real-world healthcare systems and how long-term planning supports better patient outcomes and operational success.
